In
1993, the FSU Alumni Association established the
Bernard F. Sliger
Award for Service and the
Circle of Gold Award.
The Sliger
Award, named for the eleventh president of the University,
is the single highest honor accorded by the Association. It
recognizes a member of the University community who has,
through their efforts, made a major contribution toward the
fulfillment of the mission of the University.
Established in 1993, the Circle of Gold
Award recognizes worthy individuals
who, through their service and achievements, personify the University’s
Tradition of Excellence. As many as twelve awards may be presented each
year. Sliger Award winners are accorded membership in the Circle of
Gold.
